Just about anything to do with photography brings out the inner child in me. I love being able to capture moments and keep the memories long after they pass. It’s fun in a way because in life we don’t get to control time or repeat moments that made us feel HAPPY but photos give us something to look back on. Karl Lagerfeld said it best:
“What i like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”
― Karl Lagerfeld
This past weekend I geeked out because I’ve always wanted to use a Polaroid camera and try different ways of producing images (have bigger goals Nyarai, yes I know it’s petty but I loved it).
It was a chilled evening, far away from the stress of my uni work and everything else. It was a moment to just take a step back and relax with the sole purpose of creating a fun small impromptu photo-shoot.
I wanted to share some of these images mostly because it was my first time playing around with Polaroids & film and didn’t quite know what to expect. I also wanted to share them because for anyone else who is a sucker for photos and turning the whole process into something artistic – your inner self will love it. You don’t have to be a professional, you just need to let go of perfection (maybe a glass of wine or two) and you’re ready to go.
